About The Position
The Float Pool RN is a nurse competent in Medical/Surgical and Telemetry nursing who coordinates and provides patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The role serves patients across specialty areas including Neuro, Cardiac, Orthopedics, Oncology, Acute Rehab, Behavioral Health, and Multi-Specialty. The RN is required to float between two areas at both facilities in accordance with the Float Pool Staffing Agreement and hospital policy. The position is supervised by the Area Manager and Director.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- At least two years of recent hospital-based Medical/Surgical nursing experience.
- Current RN license to practice in Tennessee.
- Current American Heart Association-issued BLS certification before the start date.
Nice To Haves
- ACLS certification preferred, depending on unit assignment.
- PALS certification preferred, depending on unit assignment.
- CPI certification to be obtained during hospital orientation, depending on unit assignment.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care for Medical/Surgical and Telemetry patients across multiple specialty units.
- Perform nursing assessments and develop individualized patient care plans.
- Implement and evaluate patient care to ensure safe and effective outcomes.
- Coordinate care and collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Float between assigned units and facilities according to staffing needs and hospital policies.
- Perform related duties as required.
