About The Position

The psychiatric unit nurse cares for patients with behavioral health illnesses in an acute care setting. The nurse conducts intake interviews, assesses and evaluates patients, establishes plans of care, maintains a safe therapeutic environment, collaborates as a member of an interdisciplinary team, and may conduct therapeutic groups. This full-time position is based in the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry department at Cox North in Springfield, Missouri. The scheduled work shift is nights, 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM, for 36 hours per week.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program or NLN-approved program.
• Active RN license in the state of Missouri.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Effective leadership abilities.
• Valuable time-management skills.
• Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Flexibility and ability to work in a multitasking environment.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
• Previous nursing experience.
