Registered Nurse (RN) Medical Oncology
About The Position
Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital is hiring a Registered Nurse for Cornell 2, a Medical Oncology unit. This is a full-time night shift position. Cornell 2 is a Medical/Surgical Unit that specializes in a variety of patient conditions including oncology, urology, diabetes, kidney disease, COPD, and CHF. The unit offers a dynamic environment for experienced nursing professionals and new graduate nurses, with a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:5/1:6. The position includes a comprehensive orientation and ongoing professional development. The hospital is Magnet status, a 176-bed facility with all patient-friendly private rooms. Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in Registered Nursing (required)
- Registered nursing License (Required)
- Students in the process of obtaining a Registered Nursing License.
- BLS required within 90 days of hire
- None required experience
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor of Science Nursing- BSN or MSN (Preferred)
- Students in the process of completing an accredited nursing program.
- 1 year of acute care (preferred)
- Previous healthcare experience (preferred)
Responsibilities
- Perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process.
- Assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation.
- Adhere to standards of professional performance including ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice/nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health.
- Possess clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.
