About The Position

Due to tremendous growth, Right at Home Virginia Beach is seeking a dynamic and passionate Part Time Registered Nurse to join our Homecare Agency team! We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in a part-time, flexible capacity. This role is ideal for a self-directed professional who values autonomy while maintaining a strong commitment to high-quality patient care. The RN will primarily conduct new client assessments during established working hours, ensuring timely and thorough evaluations to support individualized care planning. In addition, the nurse will have the flexibility to schedule follow-up assessments based on their availability, allowing for a balanced and adaptable work schedule. This position offers the opportunity to work independently while remaining part of a supportive team environment, making it an excellent fit for nurses seeking flexibility without compromising professional impact. The Registered Nurse (RN) acts as the Clinical Liaison responsible for supervising all client care activities to assure compliance with current standards of accepted nursing and medical practice, including supervising, training, and orientation processes with care teams and the overall direction of home care services. This person will establish, implement, and evaluate goals and objectives for home care services that meet and promote the standards of quality and contribute to the total organization’s philosophy.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current RN licensure in the state and CPR certification.
  • Licensed driver with automobile that is in good working order and insured in accordance with the organization requirements.
  • Excellent observation, verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, basic math skills; nursing skills per competency checklist.
  • Ability to relate to clients and care staff in a way that is sensitive to the unique needs of the individual.
  • Competent computer skills and a familiarity with electronic medical records.
  • Ability to work in a discrete manner maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information; self-starter with ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment; excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize work load and adhere to strict deadlines.

Nice To Haves

  • One (1) year of home care or home health care experience preferred.
  • Experience in a healthcare training setting a plus (CPR, AED, CNA, etc).

Responsibilities

  • Performs client assessment upon admission, change of condition, and as required by state law.
  • Develops the plan of care and makes necessary revisions as client status and needs change.
  • Collaborates with, counsels, and educates the client and family to develop a plan of care to meet specific client needs.
  • Identifies discharge planning needs as part of the care plan development and implements prior to discharge of the client.
  • Collaborates with client care team to implement plan of care.
  • Communicates with client’s representative regarding the client’s needs and reports any changes in the client’s condition; obtains/receives physician’s orders as required.
  • Communicates with community health related persons to coordinate the care plan.
