About The Position

Valley Hope is seeking Registered Nurses (RNs) for PRN positions with 12-hour shifts to join their growing team. This role is located in Parker, CO. Valley Hope specializes in restoring lives affected by addiction and supporting lifelong recovery through its core values of Character, Compassion, and Commitment. The Parker facility, established in 1989, offers residential drug and alcohol addiction treatment services. RNs in this role provide compassionate medical care to patients throughout their 30-45 day treatment, from admission to discharge, contributing to their healing and recovery. The work environment is described as fulfilling, mission-focused, and more relaxed than a standard hospital setting.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in nursing.
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse to practice in the state of employment.
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
  • Prior experience in substance abuse treatment and/or detox is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Executes prescribed treatments and medication interventions as established for each patient.
  • Implements nursing care in accordance with Valley Hope’s medical philosophies, policies, and procedures as well as any other regulating bodies to ensure quality patient care.
  • Conducts detox admissions and provides patient care during patient detoxification process including pre-screening of patients, obtaining physical assessment data and health history, administering detox treatment plans, and monitoring of patient.
  • Records treatment activities and patient observations in patient records accurately and timely; completes paperwork requirements as needed in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Communicates with nursing supervisors, nursing staff, and clinical staff regarding patients’ treatment and status.
  • Follows established policies and procedures for all medical emergencies (i.e., convulsions, suicides, Delirium Tremens, etc.).
  • Maintains a safe and sanitary environment applying infection control techniques and universal precautions.
  • Oversees non-licensed nursing staff as instructed by and under the direction of the facility Nursing Director.
