About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) on the Step Down unit uses critical thinking to coordinate and provide safe, quality patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The RN also assists with organizing patient care activities as assigned. This is a full-time day-shift position at Florida Coast Medical Center.

Requirements

• Graduate of a Registered Nurse program.
• Registered Nurse license.
• BLS/CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
• ACLS certification from the American Heart Association; inexperienced RNs must obtain it within 180 days.
• Basic EKG.
• NIH Stroke certification within 60 days of hire or transfer effective date.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients’ physical, psychosocial, educational, and growth and development needs.
• Develop a written plan of care using assessment data.
• Implement the nursing care plan.
• Evaluate patients’ responses to interventions.
• Demonstrate leadership skills.
• Assist in organizing patient care activities.
