Registered Nurse - Med Surg Tele
About The Position
The Registered Nurse on the Med-Surg-Tele team at Garnet Health Medical Center Catskill implements the Nursing Process in accordance with established Standards of Practice. The nurse ensures patient-care policies and procedures are followed in compliance with Garnet Health Hospital policies, the Nurse Practice Act, and New York State licensure requirements. The role calls for critical thinking, effective organization and prioritization, and evidence-based nursing practice. Requirements
- Currently licensed and registered in New York State to practice as a registered professional nurse.
- Maintain all required certifications for assigned areas.
- Complete a BLS Provider Course before release from unit orientation; BLS renewal is not required once ACLS is obtained.
- Complete a cardiac arrhythmia interpretation course within 3 months of hire.
- Complete hospital crisis prevention training within 3 months of hire and annually thereafter.
- Complete ACLS within 6 months of hire.
- Ability to perform the position’s physical and functional requirements, including lifting up to 50 pounds and standing or walking for extended periods.
- Ability to work under pressure, organize and synthesize information, prioritize tasks, think critically, adapt, multitask, and attend to detail despite interruptions.
Nice To Haves
- Baccalaureate degree in Nursing preferred.
- Medical-Surgical experience preferred.
- ANCC-Med/Surg certification preferred.
