About The Position

Benchmark at Rye is seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse to provide nursing care to residents in a warm, comfortable, home-like environment. The RN works as part of a supportive team and helps build lasting relationships with residents and associates. This is a full-time evening position working 2 p.m. to 10 p.m., with compensation of $40–$44 per hour.

Requirements

• Current state RN or LPN license and CPR certification.
• Graduate of an approved RN/LPN program, as required by state regulations.

Nice To Haves

• One to two years of experience working as a nurse preferred.
• Previous experience working with older adults in a paid or volunteer position is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Accurately assess, communicate, and document residents’ status.
• Observe and report significant changes in residents’ behavior or health to the Resident Care Director, physician, family, Resident Care Assistants, and Executive Director, in accordance with state regulations.
• Direct and supervise the daily work assignments of Resident Care Assistants.
• Mentor, guide, and direct Lead Resident Care Assistants in all aspects of their work.
• Coordinate care needs with community providers through an effective case management process.
• Balance service demands with support for resident independence.
• Recognize and help prevent elder abuse, neglect, and exploitation, and report concerns to appropriate sources per state regulations.
• Respond to emergencies and personal emergency response systems, and determine when to call for backup.
