About The Position

Sentara is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) at Sentara Norfolk General's Neuro Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) in Norfolk, Virginia. A sign-on bonus of up to $15,000 is offered for qualified candidates, and relocation packages are available. This is a full-time, permanent position with a Weekend Nights shift (7p-7a) on either Friday/Saturday/Sunday or Saturday/Sunday/Monday. The Neuro IMCU is a blended unit that provides highly skilled care to neuroscience patients, including those with stroke, back and neck post-surgical conditions, and epilepsy patients. It also houses one of the few Epilepsy Monitoring Units (EMU) in the area. The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for performing a competent level of nursing care using the nursing process, which includes assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care, teaching, health promotion, and evaluation. Professional performance standards encompass ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice/nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health. The RN must possess the clinical knowledge and skills required for specific clinical areas. All Direct Care RNs are required to have BLS within 90 days of hire.

Requirements

  • RN Degree REQUIRED
  • Virginia RN License REQUIRED
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required within 90-days of hire
