About The Position

The Heart Institute at UW Medical Center – Montlake & SLU provides a full range of heart healthcare and prevention services including general cardiology, cardiac diagnostic imaging tests and procedures, cardiac surgery, arrhythmia management and electrophysiology, interventional cardiology, structural heart services, advanced heart failure management, heart transplant and ventricular assist devices (VADs), adult congenital heart disease management, cardiac psychiatry, cardiovascular genetics and other advanced services. The Electrophysiology and Device Clinic provides both general and specialized electrophysiology services, with expertise in diagnosing and managing cardiac rhythm disorders, pacemakers, defibrillators, and ablations. Nurses in this clinic deliver expert clinical care and care coordination, perform wound and device checks, support device programming, manage remote monitoring, triage patient calls, and provide education to patients and families in a setting that fosters professional growth.

Requirements

• Active WA State RN License by start date.
• Current BLS and ACLS.
• 2 years of outpatient or inpatient Cardiology/Tele experience.

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert clinical care and care coordination.
• Perform wound and device checks.
• Support device programming.
• Manage remote monitoring.
• Triage patient calls.
• Provide education to patients and families.
• Engage in Cardiac Implantable Electronic Device monitoring, programming and management.
• Utilize strong analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and excellent phone-based triage and communication abilities.
• Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team consisting of cardiologists, surgeons, interventionalists, other sub-specialty nurses, advanced practice providers, radiology team, research team, and administrative staff to coordinate, support, and optimize the medical care of our complex patient population.
