About The Position

University of Washington Medical Center has an outstanding opportunity for a REGISTERED NURSE (RN) in the outpatient CARDIOLOGY CLINIC. The Heart Institute at UW Medical Center – Montlake & SLU provides a full range of heart healthcare and prevention services including general cardiology, cardiac diagnostic imaging tests and procedures, cardiac surgery, arrhythmia management and electrophysiology, interventional cardiology, structural heart services, advanced heart failure management, heart transplant and ventricular assist devices (VADs), adult congenital heart disease management, cardiac psychiatry, cardiovascular genetics and other advanced services. The Electrophysiology and Device Clinic provides both general and specialized electrophysiology services, with expertise in diagnosing and managing cardiac rhythm disorders, pacemakers, defibrillators, and ablations. Nurses in this clinic deliver expert clinical care and care coordination, perform wound and device checks, support device programming, manage remote monitoring, triage patient calls, and provide education to patients and families in a setting that fosters professional growth. The Device RN oversees remote cardiac device data, including reviewing pacemaker, defibrillator, and loop recorder transmissions. Key responsibilities include triaging incoming data, conducting patient phone assessments, and documenting findings in EPIC for Electrophysiology Providers to review. This role also supports patients in setting up and using remote monitoring equipment, assisting with transmission troubleshooting, and educating them on device monitors and related applications.

Requirements

  • Active WA State RN License by start date.
  • Current BLS and ACLS.
  • 2 years of outpatient or inpatient Cardiology/Tele experience.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver expert clinical care and care coordination.
