About The Position
The Registered Nurse works collaboratively at Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital as part of an interdisciplinary team to deliver evidence-based, individualized patient care. The role facilitates all aspects of the patient visit experience and supports care that addresses patients’ physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. The position is per diem on nights, with a 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. shift and weekends required.
Requirements
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) from an accredited school of nursing.
- Current Registered Nurse licensure in Pennsylvania or a Compact State License.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Responsibilities
- Adhere to hospital nursing practice standards and appropriately assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
- Assist emergent patients and document care using the Emergency Room nursing tool.
- Identify patient needs based on objective data and complete appropriate documentation.
- Implement appropriate nursing actions for identified patient needs.
- Make decisions based on knowledge of facts and sound judgment.
- Discuss planned patient care and expected outcomes with patients and/or their families or significant others, include them in care discussions, and document accordingly.
- Identify and appropriately use a multidisciplinary approach to facilitate delivery of patient care.
