About The Position

This role is for a Registered Nurse in the Stepdown/Neuro unit at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. The position is full-time, nights. The unit is a high-acuity, 46-bed unit with a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:3-4. Patients admitted to this unit come from the ER or are transferred from the Trauma Neuro ICU and MICU. The diagnoses are wide-ranging and include Trauma Injuries, Craniotomy, Laminectomy, and Discectomy. The nurse will act as a Clinical Liaison, translating complex medical plans into clear, compassionate language, and will engage in effective team collaboration, including rapid response and initiative participation.

Requirements

BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Registered Nurse credentialed from the Indiana Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.

Nice To Haves

Previous inpatient experience is preferred.
