Registered Nurse - Behavioral Health - Nights
About The Position
MIND 24-7 is hiring a Registered Nurse to provide on-site behavioral health crisis care in Phoenix, Arizona. The nurse will help stabilize patients experiencing acute psychiatric distress in a fast-paced facility, serving children, adolescents, and adults. The role is scheduled for night shifts consisting of three 12-hour shifts, from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with every other weekend off. The nurse provides physical and mental health assessments, medication administration, patient monitoring, treatment-planning support, education, crisis interventions, and clinical documentation. The role may also include lab draws, wound care, floating among qualified clinical services as needed, supervision sessions, and assigned training. Requirements
- Active, unrestricted RN license issued by the Arizona Board of Nursing.
- At least 1 year of psychiatric, behavioral health, or crisis care experience.
- Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card, or ability to obtain one upon hire.
- Comfort working in a crisis environment with diverse patient populations.
- Experience working with children and adolescents in a behavioral health setting.
- Proficiency with EMRs and psychiatric documentation.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive physical and mental health assessments and document pertinent information.
- Administer medications according to facility protocol and document accurately.
- Monitor patients and document and report behavioral or medical changes.
- Participate in patient treatment planning as part of the multidisciplinary clinical team.
- Educate patients about diagnoses, treatments, and medications.
- Use verbal de-escalation and therapeutic interventions in potentially dangerous situations.
- Apply seclusion and restraint standards and ensure proper documentation.
- Use SafeClinch techniques in accordance with facility guidelines.
- Document patient care accurately and promptly according to facility protocol.
- Perform lab draws and provide wound care as ordered.
- Float among clinical services within the market as needed and where qualified.
- Attend required supervision sessions and complete assigned training.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
