Travel Registered Nurse (RN) - Burn Trauma/Vascular ICU
About The Position
Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for the Burn Trauma/Vascular ICU. This is a temporary, full-time, 14-week assignment for the Day Shift. The unit is a 16-bed facility that handles immediate surgical recovery of Kidney and Pancreas Transplants, general surgical patients requiring ICU care, management of patients requiring mechanical ventilation, and CRRT/hemo-dialysis. Vascular procedures include lower extremity revascularization, Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm repair, Mesenteric Artery Repair, EVAR, TEVAR, Lower extremity bypass, revascularization, Carotid Endarectomy and Carotid Stent, EKOS treatment for DVTs, and medical management of AAA’s and dissections. The patient population served includes adult medical and surgical patients requiring intensive nursing care. The average length of stay is 2-3 days, with complex patients potentially staying longer than 30 days.
Requirements
- Associates, Bachelors, Masters, or diploma in the Nursing Field required
- Virginia or Compact Multi-State License in good standing
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- ACLS
- NIH Stroke Scale
- Two or more years of current acute care hospital RN experience.
Responsibilities
- Surgical recovery of Kidney and Pancreas Transplant.
- Care for General Surgical Patients requiring ICU.
- Management of patients requiring mechanical ventilation.
- Management of patients requiring CRRT and hemo-dialysis.
- Care for patients undergoing vascular procedures such as lower extremity revascularization, Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm repair, Mesenteric Artery Repair, EVAR, TEVAR, Lower extremity bypass, revascularization, Carotid Endarectomy and Carotid Stent, EKOS- treatment for DVTs, Medical management of AAA’s and dissections.
