Registered Nurse Weekend RN Admit Nurse
About The Position
Amedisys is seeking a Registered Nurse to perform admissions and start-of-care services for home health patients. The nurse conducts comprehensive assessments, evaluates patient needs, develops and implements plans of care, and provides skilled nursing in accordance with those plans and agency policies. The role supports continuity of care through communication with staff, physicians, families, and community resources, and promotes patient health through teaching and rehabilitative measures. This is a full-time weekend position with schedule options of Friday–Sunday, Saturday–Monday, or Saturday–Sunday plus one other weekday. The stated schedule is 36 hours and 25 points per week. Compensation may vary by geographic market and by job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
Requirements
- Current RN license specific to the state(s) assigned.
- One year of clinical experience as an RN; candidates with less than one year must be approved by the VP of Clinical.
- Current CPR certification.
- Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and liability insurance.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient start-of-care assessments and evaluate patient needs.
- Develop and implement plans of care.
- Complete OASIS assessments timely and accurately.
- Provide skilled nursing care in accordance with the plan of care and agency policies.
- Support continuity of patient care by communicating with staff, physicians, family members, and community resources.
- Initiate appropriate referrals when indicated.
- Promote and maintain patient health through teaching and appropriate rehabilitative measures.
- Help patients learn appropriate self-care techniques.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
