About The Position

The Ambulatory Care Center (ACC) is a multidisciplinary unit caring for both outpatients and inpatients with varying acute and chronic conditions. The ACC is open Monday to Friday from 7 am to 7 pm, with on-call requirements for urgent/emergent endoscopy. This Registered Nurse (RN) 2 position exists within a designated inpatient specialty area. The RN is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for a group of population-specific patients, from simple to complex, with multi-system issues in a safe and therapeutic environment. The RN uses knowledge of growth and development, assesses patient status, and interprets information to identify age-specific needs. The RN engages in caring relationships, collaborates with healthcare workers, and uses sound judgment in performing nursing and medical interventions. The RN adheres to specialty and organizational standards, policies, procedures, guidelines, and protocols. Reports to the Director and/or Nurse Manager. May participate in the supervision of Licensed Nursing Assistants and unlicensed personnel.

Requirements

  • Graduated from an accredited School of Nursing, BSN preferred.
  • Registered Nurse - New Hampshire Board of Nursing
  • Basic Life Support - American Heart Association
  • One year prior clinical nursing experience.
  • Evidence of experience in working effectively and positively with patients, care providers, and the multi-disciplinary team.
  • Evidence of the ability to perform as a member of a team.

  • BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct patient care.
  • Bases nursing actions by applying principles of purposeful, organized thinking to make clinical judgment/decisions.
  • Gathers data through history taking and physical assessment and interprets data in order to plan and implement interventions to meet patient care needs.
  • Develops, evaluates and revises patient's plan of care and nursing actions in response to patient's needs.
  • Documents care provided and patient's progress toward attainment of desired outcomes.
  • Directs and supervises others in the performance of delegated nursing activities.
  • Teaches the patient and/or significant other(s) about the plan of care.
  • Prepares patients to manage their care after discharge, transfer or preparation for procedure/test.
  • Manages time and resources to deliver patient care.
  • Administers medications to patients.
