About The Position

Collaborates with physicians to develop and implement a plan of care aimed at returning patients to optimal health. Provides direct bedside nursing care and executes medical orders. Manages and oversees the tasks of various support staff, including Nurse Assistants, Patient Care Associates, OB Care Associates, Surgical Service Assistants, Nursing Clerks, and Psychiatric Technicians. Evaluates the effectiveness of the patient care plan and assumes a leadership role in integrating evidence-based practices, delegating and coordinating nursing care tasks, and facilitating patient conferences. Identifies and addresses patient teaching needs for ongoing care and discharge/transfer, collaborating with relevant resources and attending planning conferences. Committed to professional growth through continuous education and participation in hospital or community programs. Educates and guides professional and ancillary personnel, and precepts new employees and students. Functions as a team leader to ensure appropriate patient placement and assignment delegation.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and holding a current license to practice in the state of Michigan.
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association or Red Cross
  • Must satisfactorily complete ACLS course and Critical Care course within one year of hire/transfer
  • Must satisfactorily complete first available Basic Dysrhythmia course

Nice To Haves

  • Six-month experience in acute care setting or equivalent
  • Critical Care Registered Nurse

Responsibilities
