Join Baylor University Medical Center (BUMC) as a Registered Nurse and be part of something better! Baylor University Medical Center (Baylor Dallas), part of Baylor Scott & White Health, is a major patient care, teaching and research center located in Dallas, Texas. Established in 1903, the hospital has grown to 914 licensed beds and cares for more than 300,000 people each year. It serves as the North Texas flagship hospital of Baylor Scott & White Health and is home to over 20 medical specialty centers. Baylor Dallas has been recognized by U.S. News & World Report as a "Best Hospital" for 29 consecutive years and achieved its fourth consecutive accreditation in the Magnet Recognition Program by the ANCC. The Surgical Inpatient units are fast-paced with high acuity patients, including liver, kidney, pancreas, auto islet cell, and uterus transplant patients, living liver and kidney donors, hepatology patients, and hepatobiliary surgery patients. The program has performed over 8,000 transplants since 1984 and was the first to successfully perform a uterus transplant in the U.S. The unit utilizes a flexible self-scheduling process with no set weekend rotation and supports shift swapping. Career growth opportunities within transplant are available, starting with transplant-specific certification (CCTN). The team environment encourages learning, and there is a charge RN every shift with decreased acuity or no patient assignment, along with patient care technician support 24 hours a day. The team has achieved top box staff satisfaction scores for several years.
