About The Position
The Detroit Medical Center Registered Nurse is a member of the Patient Care Services Team and is responsible for the satisfactory completion of nursing care by the nursing team. The RN manages and provides care for a group of patients and their families, using independent judgment and communicating and collaborating with team members, including ancillary and support services. The role encompasses leadership, partnership, collaboration, teaching, and supervision. This role is in a Level 3 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Nurses are trained to care for ventilated patients, provide gavage feeding, and specialize in PICC line placements. The unit has NCC-certified RNs and uses Panda warmers. The position is full-time on days. A sign-on bonus of up to $25,000 is available, based on relevant experience.
Requirements
- Graduation from a school of nursing.
- Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of Michigan.
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with physicians and other health care providers.
- Delegate, assess, provide, and evaluate patient care.
- Provide and delegate patient care activities to team members.
- Monitor patient progress and prepare patients for discharge.
- Report directly to senior unit management and participate in shared decision-making activities.
