About The Position
The Detroit Medical Center Registered Nurse (RN) is a member of the Patient Care Services Team and is responsible for satisfactory completion of nursing care by the nursing team. The RN manages and provides patient care activities for a group of patients and their families through independent judgment, communication, and collaboration with team members, including ancillary and support services. The role encompasses leadership, partnership, collaboration, teaching, and supervision. This position is in a Level 3 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Nurses are vent trained, provide gavage feeding, and specialize in PICC line placements. The unit has NCC-certified RNs and uses Panda Warmers.
Requirements
- Graduation from a school of nursing.
- Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Michigan.
- American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Responsibilities
- Establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with physicians and other health care providers.
- Delegates, assesses, provides, and evaluates patient care.
- Provides and delegates patient care activities to team members.
- Monitors patient progress and prepares patients for discharge.
- Reports directly to senior unit management and participates in shared decision-making activities.
- Manages and provides patient care activities for a group of patients and their families.
