About The Position

These positions are roles within the Acute Care Nursing (A.C.N.) department. Personnel will provide direct care to patients of all ages, from neonates to adults, presenting with diverse acute and chronic health problems. Services shall cover the range of Acute Care Nursing services typically provided in rural civilian practice, including pediatric and adult medical-surgical in-patient care, end-of-life care, cardiac telemetry acuity, and care for patients with conditions such as diabetes mellitus, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, pneumonia, RSV/COVID/Influenza, hepatic encephalopathy, alcohol withdrawal, and failure to thrive.

Requirements

  • Must hold a current, unrestricted state nursing license from any of the 50 U.S. states or D.C.
  • Minimum 2 years acute care nursing experience
  • Current AHA BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications

Responsibilities

  • Independently assess biophysical, psychosocial, and educational needs of medical, surgical, and pediatric patients.
  • Develop, evaluate, and adjust individual patient care plans every shift.
  • Initiate treatments, medications, and resuscitative measures using standing orders and protocols.
  • Provide pediatric and adult medical-surgical in-patient care.
  • Provide end-of-life care.
  • Manage cardiac telemetry acuity.
  • Care for patients with diabetes mellitus, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, pneumonia, RSV/COVID/Influenza, hepatic encephalopathy, alcohol withdrawal, and failure to thrive.
