About The Position

These positions are roles within the Acute Care Nursing (A.C.N.) department. Personnel will provide direct care to patients of all ages, from neonates to adults, presenting with diverse acute and chronic health problems. Services shall cover the range of Acute Care Nursing services typically provided in rural civilian practice, including pediatric and adult medical-surgical in-patient care, end-of-life care, and cardiac telemetry.

Requirements

• Must hold a current, unrestricted state nursing license from any of the 50 U.S. states or D.C.
• Minimum 2 years acute care nursing experience
• Current AHA BLS, ACLS, PALS

Responsibilities

• Assist with dressing changes, ambulation, and activities of daily living.
• Administer prescribed medications through various routes (PO, IM, IV, etc.).
• Perform range of motion exercises and respiratory treatments, and assist with cardiac telemetry monitoring.
• Instruct patients and families on disease processes, plan of care, and use of equipment.
• Maintain complete nursing documentation and medical record confidentiality in accordance with IHS regulations and CMS requirements.
