About The Position

This role is for a Registered Nurse in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Ascension St. Vincent in Evansville, IN. The position is full-time, working day shifts from 7 am to 7 pm. The nurse will be responsible for delivering compassionate patient care, coordinating multidisciplinary care, tracking and communicating patient progress, and championing seamless transitions for patients.

Requirements

BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Registered Nurse credentialed from the Indiana Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire required.

Nice To Haves

Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Responsibilities

Implement and actively monitor individualized care plans to keep patients safe, comfortable, and informed throughout their treatment journey.
Lead cross-functional collaboration across care teams to ensure seamless communication, prompt execution of medical orders, and holistic patient support.
Monitor vital patient conditions and advocate for patient needs through clear, timely updates to families, physicians, and care team members.
Assess patient needs early to coordinate comprehensive discharge plans that ensure smooth, safe transitions from hospital to home or continuing care.
