About The Position
Saint Luke’s Hospital of Kansas City is hiring an experienced Registered Nurse to join its Intermediate Progressive Care Unit. The team cares for post-surgical and medical short-stay patients in a fast-paced environment with varying acuity levels. The role offers the opportunity to build relationships with patients in a positive environment supported by engaged leadership, develop nursing skills, and grow a strength-driven career path. The unit provides experience with varied conditions and treatments, ICU stabilization, patients across specialties, high patient turnover, and post-surgical and medical care. The Registered Nurse uses the nursing process, provides patient care, delegates patient-care tasks, and supervises other patient-care staff. The nurse coordinates care plans for assigned patients and consults with other healthcare team members as needed to support optimal patient outcomes. The clinical nurse demonstrates proficiency and follows applicable policies, rules, and guidelines. The listed shift is 6:45 p.m. to 7:15 a.m.; night and weekend shift differentials are available.
Requirements
- Less than one year of applicable experience.
- Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association or Red Cross.
- Registered Nurse qualification.
- Associate degree.
Responsibilities
- Utilize the nursing process.
- Perform patient care, delegate patient-care tasks, and supervise other patient-care staff.
- Coordinate the plan of care for a group of assigned patients.
- Consult with other members of the healthcare team when indicated to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Demonstrate clinical proficiency and abide by applicable policies, rules, and guidelines.
