About The Position
Saint Luke’s Hospital of Kansas City is hiring an experienced Registered Nurse for its Intermediate Progressive Care Unit. The nursing team cares for post-surgical and medical short-stay patients in a fast-paced environment with varied acuity levels. The role offers an opportunity to build relationships with patients in a positive environment supported by engaging leadership focused on developing strength-driven career paths. Nurses can develop and master clinical skills while learning new skills and growing their careers. The unit provides experience with a fast-paced environment, varied acuity levels, conditions and treatments, ICU stabilization, patients across specialties, high patient turnover, and post-surgical and medical patients. This full-time position works day shift from 6:45 a.m. to 7:15 p.m. Night and weekend shift differentials are available.
Requirements
- Registered Nurse (MO) credential through the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NURSYS).
- Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association or Red Cross.
- Associate degree in Nursing.
- Applicable experience: less than 1 year.
Responsibilities
- Utilize the nursing process.
- Perform patient care, delegate patient care tasks, and supervise other patient care staff.
- Coordinate the plan of care for a group of assigned patients.
- Consult with other members of the health care team when indicated to support optimal patient outcomes.
- Demonstrate clinical nurse proficiency and abide by policies, rules, and guidelines.
