About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) works on Unit 1 South, an 18-bed inpatient adult behavioral health unit providing acute behavioral health services. The RN provides and coordinates comprehensive patient care through the nursing process, delivering safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures. The role uses evidence-based practice, clinical decision-making, compassion, and communication skills while helping create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum. Atrium Health Behavioral Health Charlotte is a facility of Carolinas Medical Center and provides inpatient and outpatient treatment across a broad continuum. The center includes the region’s only dedicated psychiatric emergency department and is staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It is located in central Charlotte, North Carolina.

Requirements

Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing.
Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices.
Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association.
Behavioral health experience.
Skilled at de-escalation.
