About The Position

Baptist Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Emergency Department team at Baptist Emergency at Silverleaf, a new free-standing Emergency Department opening Fall 2026. This is a Full-Time opportunity working Nights shift with a commitment of 36 hours per week. Scheduled shifts are 7:00PM–7:00AM. Baptist Emergency at Silverleaf will expand access to high-quality emergency care for residents of St. Johns County and surrounding areas. Designed with efficiency and patient experience in mind, this modern facility will provide comprehensive emergency services in a convenient, community-focused setting.

Requirements

  • 1–2 years Medical Surgical Nursing Experience
  • Hospital Experience
  • Telemetry Experience
  • Associate of Science in Nursing Required
  • Licensed Registered Nurse Required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Required
  • Diploma Nurses must have 5+ years of progressive care.

  • Emergency Department Experience Preferred
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing Preferred
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Preferred
  • Certified Emergency Registered Nurse (CEN) Preferred
  • Conscious Sedation Certification Preferred
  • NIH Stroke Scale Certification Preferred
  • Trauma Nurse Core Course Certification (TNCC) Preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide care to patients requiring treatment of any medical, surgical, or other condition
  • Embrace and uphold the hospital mission statement
  • Educate patients and families on their disease process and plan of care
  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams
  • Coordinate care provided by ancillary services
  • Serve as a patient advocate
  • Participate in staff meetings and unit-based initiatives
  • Provides for patient needs as recognized through use of the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation) and the mission statement; organization and supervision of care provided by supportive personnel; coordination of care provided by ancillary services.
  • Including patients and significant others (SO)/families in developing an individualized plan of care.
  • Education of patients/SO/families to their disease process and plan of care.
  • Serves as patient advocate and responsible for providing care to patients requiring treatment of any medical, surgical, or other condition, including chronic medical and minor injuries or illnesses.
