About The Position

MedWell Staffing is seeking to hire two (2) RNs for our Brooklyn client not-for-profit senior living care center for the 3-11 shift. We have flexibility for either FT or PT. The RN plays an integral role in helping our client achieve its care plans for their patients. The Registered Nurse (RN) is a key member of the Nursing Team, assisting and supervising residents in all activities of daily living while providing expert care to patients. MedWell Staffing works with leading clients in the healthcare industry throughout the metro NYC area.

Requirements

An active RN license for New York State
CPR certification
Nursing Degree (ASN or BSN)
Experience with EMR
Keen ability to assess resident needs and make sound clinical decision
Have an ability to prioritize and coordinate activities of nursing unit
A collaborative style with communication skills – both verbal and written

Nice To Haves

Prior experience working in a skilled nursing facility or long-term care

Responsibilities

Serve as the nursing leader and educator on the unit.
Directs all care related items from admission through discharge
Supervises CNAs and LPNs
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team in a coordinated effort with the resident and family to create a comprehensive, individualized plan of care
Educates and reinforces clinical competencies of nursing staff in areas such as wound care, ostomy care, foley catheter insertion and care, medication administration through all routes including G-tube and IVs, trach care and suctioning.
Performs tasks such as IV insertion, PICC line care, GT and suprapubic catheter reinsertion, initiate care plans and review the data and sign off on assessments done by the LPN
