About The Position

The Registered Nurse works on Med 100, a 21-bed medical unit serving patients with CHF, COPD, dialysis needs, wounds, and hospice care needs. Because patients often have longer stays, nurses have opportunities to build relationships with them. The Registered Nurse manages care for patients with medical conditions or undergoing surgical procedures, assessing their condition, administering medications, changing dressings, monitoring vital signs, maintaining records, and supporting and educating patients and families. The role requires broad medical-care knowledge to serve a diverse patient population.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program or an NLN-approved program.
• Active Registered Nurse license in the state of Missouri.
• Obtain BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Effective leadership abilities.
• Time management skills.
• Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Flexibility and ability to work in a multitasking environment.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
• Previous nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage care for patients experiencing medical conditions or undergoing surgical procedures.
• Assess patient conditions.
• Administer medications and change dressings.
• Monitor vital signs and maintain patient records.
• Provide support and education to patients and families.
