About The Position

The Emergency Room Nurse provides the highest level of care to patients in need of immediate medical assistance. The role requires excellent communication and multitasking skills to treat people with potentially life-threatening injuries or illnesses. The position is in Elliot Health System’s 42-bed, full-service, Level II Trauma Center Emergency Department, which treats nearly 58,000 patients annually and includes pediatric emergency care, an acute psychiatric unit, and an intermediate care area. Nurses collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals to deliver emergency care.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Registered Nurse license or Compact State License in New Hampshire.
• BLS certification during orientation and employment.
• ACLS certification within six months of hire.
• PALS certification within one year of hire.
• Crisis management certification.
• CPI Advanced certification within six months of hire.
• TNCC certification within one year of hire.
• Pursue professional certification upon eligibility or within three years of entering the specialty practice.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
• Minimum of one year of recent clinical experience.
• ENPC certification is encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient needs and provide critical care.
• Monitor vital signs, administer medications, and respond to medical emergencies.
• Work as part of a team of doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
• Create patient care plans and maintain accurate medical records.
