About The Position

The Registered Nurse will provide emergency department care to patients across the lifespan, from newborns and pediatric patients to adults and geriatric patients. The department treats conditions including stroke, sepsis, trauma, myocardial infarction, cardiac arrest, and respiratory failure. Nurses are expected to care for all assigned patients, including SANE patients. The unit has 64 beds: 2 triage, 40 acute, 6 super track, 2 trauma, 10 CDU, and 6 psychiatric beds. Floating is required. Charge capability is highly preferred, and block scheduling is not promised or guaranteed. Requirements

• At least 2 years of emergency department experience, including some pediatric experience.
• Travel experience is required and must be documented.
• Must live at least 75 miles from the facility; travelers who live closer will be offered a local rate.
• Current AHA ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC certifications are required.
• Active New York nursing license; NURSYS report and license verification are required.
• EPIC EMR experience is required.
• Submit an up-to-date resume, a specialty-matching skills checklist, and a driver's license with an address matching the applicant demographics.
• RTO must be included at the time of submission.

Responsibilities

• Provide emergency department nursing care to assigned patients across newborn, pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations.
• Provide care for patients with diagnoses including stroke, sepsis, trauma, myocardial infarction, cardiac arrest, and respiratory failure.
• Provide care to all assigned patients, including SANE patients.
• Float as required.
• Manage required drips and medications, including pressors, vasodilators, anti-arrhythmics, sedation medications, TNK, heparin, and insulin.
