About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Outpatient Medical Oncology Infusion Clinic at Saint Joseph Hospital provides and coordinates patient care using the nursing process. The RN delivers safe, evidence-based care through therapeutic interventions, technology, and collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team to support patients throughout their treatment. Requirements

  • Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in state of practice. Valid compact licenses must be transferred to the state of practice within 60 days of the start of employment.
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN). RNs with less than 12 months of experience must obtain their Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) within four (4) years of their hire date.
  • Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers.
  • Education must be obtained from an accredited institution. Degree will be verified.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive, patient-centered care by assessing physical, emotional, and psychosocial needs and partnering closely with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary care team throughout their treatment journey.
  • Use critical thinking and clinical expertise to develop individualized plans of care, incorporating patient education, symptom management, and preparation for ongoing support beyond the clinic setting.
  • Collaborate with oncologists, pharmacists, and interdisciplinary partners to coordinate care, prioritize treatments, and ensure safe, timely infusion services in a fast-paced outpatient setting.
  • Practice within a culture that values professionalism, mentorship, and continuous learning while upholding the highest legal, ethical, and regulatory standards of nursing practice.
  • Evaluate outcomes, adapt care plans as patient needs evolve, and contribute to an environment focused on quality outcomes, patient satisfaction, and clinical excellence.
