The Registered Nurse will conduct physical exams to assess patient health needs and problems, implement physicians’ orders such as performing treatments, starting IVs, administering medications, and interpreting tests. This role involves reviewing and maintaining medical records, administering direct care to injured, disabled, ill or convalescent patients, and documenting pertinent information and medication administration. The nurse will also counsel patients and family members on disease prevention and health maintenance, maintain a safe and hygienic working environment, and provide emotional and psychological support to patients and families. Continuous training and education, including department-specific requirements, are essential. The role includes receiving patients, explaining procedures, checking vital signs, completing assessments, administering therapy, monitoring reactions, documenting and reporting information to physicians appropriately, and effectively dealing with emergency situations. Providing infusion treatments such as hydration, blood and blood components, drugs, and other solutions is also a key responsibility. Accurate documentation of patient care, medication administration, and ongoing assessment is required, along with utilizing proper medication administration rights and techniques. Maintaining patient confidentiality and staying updated on trends and requirements through emails and staff meetings are also part of the role. Assistance to other departments may be needed, and emotional intelligence is valued. Other duties as assigned.
