Requirements

Graduated from an accredited Nursing Education Program, minimum of an associate degree (ADN) or baccalaureate degree (BSN).
Must pass NCLEX and obtain Registered Nursing License within 4 month of hire.
Registered Nurses with less than 12 months of experience.
Any Registered Nurse who is changing specialties, has limited experience, or is returning to the workforce is welcome to participate.
Current BLS

Communicate positively and effectively, both written and verbally, with patients, family, and staff.
Demonstrate effective organizational skills in an evolving environment.

Adherence to PMC confidentiality procedures and policies when dealing with employees and the community.
Develop professional goals and diversity of responsibility within practice; consistent with PMC mission.
Identify and promote new learning around changing patient safety standards.
Serve in an advocacy role, encouraging active involvement of patient and family in patient’s care.
Self-motivated and directed.
Knowledgeable about current trauma care trends and practices.
Present and punctual for all scheduled shifts.

Responsibilities

Provide direct nursing care, alongside a coach, in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of PMC.
Establishes and/or revises priorities for patient care activities based on the following: acuity of patient need, patient preference and resource availability.
Initiates and/or maintains interventions to assure continuity of safe/effective care for patients.
Responds to data indicating risk to individual’s health and initiates action to correct, reduce or prevent the risk.
Seeks supervision, consultation, assistance when unable to perform safely and independently.
Complies with established hospital/department personnel policies.
Uses communication strategies in order to achieve desirable outcomes.
Documents in patient’s Electronic Health Record (EHR) according to established guidelines.
Must access and complete the first module of the program within the first three weeks of the launch of their cohort.
Must continually access the online course website to complete the online modules at a minimum of every six week.
Flexibility to work weekends, holidays and 12-hour day/night shifts.
Sign a 2-year commitment agreement to work on the hiring unit.
Other duties as assigned.
