About The Position

Sentara Leigh in Norfolk, VA is hiring a Registered Nurse to work in the Cardiac Cath Lab. The Registered Nursing (RN) is responsible to perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. The standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence- based practice /nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing. The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas. Cardiac Cath Lab Registered Nurse will float, monitor, scrub and have the opportunity to work with the following procedures: diagnostic caths, interventions, CTOs, Afib Watchman device, Impella, intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP), TAVR Heart Valve Replacement, Mitra clips, Left/Right heart caths, biopsies, cardioversions, Transesophageal echo, loop recorder implants, etc.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree or Diploma in Registered Nursing
  • Virginia RN License or Virginia or Compact/Multi-State Eligible
  • BLS within 90 days of hire
  • Critical Care/IMCU ACLS within 1 year of hire
  • Registered Nurse with Critical Care, PCU, ER, Cardiac, Stepdown or Recovery Room experience

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science Nursing- BSN or MSN

  • Adhere to the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence- based practice /nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health).
  • Float, monitor, and scrub in the Cardiac Cath Lab.
  • Work with procedures including diagnostic caths, interventions, CTOs, Afib Watchman device, Impella, intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP), TAVR Heart Valve Replacement, Mitra clips, Left/Right heart caths, biopsies, cardioversions, Transesophageal echo, loop recorder implants.
