About The Position

Sentara Leigh in Norfolk, VA is hiring a Registered Nurse to work in the Cardiac Cath, Vascular, and IR Lab department (CVIS). Up to $15,000 Sign-On Bonus for Qualified candidates! Hours: 7:00am to 4:30pm working four 9.5-hour shifts per week. Will be required to take call. Cardiac Cath Lab Registered Nurse will float, monitor, scrub and have the opportunity to work with the following procedures: diagnostic caths, interventions, intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP), Left/Right heart caths, cardioversions, Transesophageal echo, vascular angiograms, vascular thrombectomies, sacroplasties, gastric tubes, nephrostomy tubes, etc. The Registered Nursing (RN) is responsible to perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. The standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence- based practice /nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing. The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree or Diploma in Registered Nursing
  • Virginia RN License or Virginia or Compact/Multi-State Eligible
  • BLS within 90 days of hire
  • Critical Care/IMCU ACLS within 1 year of hire
  • Experience as a Registered Nurse with Critical Care, PCU, ER, Cardiac, Stepdown or Recovery Room

  • Bachelor of Science Nursing- BSN or MSN

Responsibilities

  • Float, monitor, and scrub in the Cardiac Cath, Vascular, and IR Lab department.
