About The Position

The Registered Nurse works in a 26-bed Med-Surg Telemetry Unit caring for a diverse adult patient population that requires telemetry monitoring. Patient conditions include electrolyte imbalances, substance withdrawal, infectious processes, heart failure, fluid and volume overload, and cardiac rhythm and conduction disorders. Patients may also require dialysis, wound care, tracheostomy or PEG tube care, electrolyte management, or inpatient hospice care, and may be transitioning from extended care or assisted living facilities or living with cardiac pacemakers or defibrillators. The nurse coordinates and delivers compassionate, quality patient care using the nursing process, communicates pertinent information with patients, families, and the healthcare team, and helps address variances from patient goals. This is a full-time day position at Henry Ford Warren Hospital, scheduled 7 a.m.–7:30 p.m., including every other weekend and holidays.

Requirements

Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
Have the clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans.
Be able to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services.
Be able to communicate effectively with patients, families, and hospital personnel.
Hold current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing.
Hold health care provider certification (BCLS).

Provide leadership in coordinating and delivering quality, compassionate patient care.
Use the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide, delegate, supervise, and document patient care and teaching for patients and families.
Communicate pertinent patient and family information effectively to the healthcare team.
Participate in finding solutions to variances from patient goals and ensure those solutions are implemented.
