About The Position
Sentara BelleHarbour Emergency Department is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Emergency Department! This is a full-time, night shift position (7p to 7A). The role is ideal for someone seeking a fast-paced, team-centered environment with daily challenges and meaningful impact. The Sentara BelleHarbour Emergency Department is a state-of-the-art, free-standing facility that operates 24/7 and serves as a licensed extension of Sentara Obici Hospital. It features 22 treatment spaces, including fast track rooms, 10 focused care rooms, and 12 high acuity care rooms. Nurses are specially trained to care for both adult and pediatric patients. As part of the Sentara network, the BelleHarbour ED offers strong clinical leadership, advanced technology, and a collaborative, team-focused environment.
Requirements
- Registered nursing License (Required)
- ACLS required prior to completion of orientation
- PALS required prior to completion of orientation
- BLS required within 90 days of hire
- Degree or Diploma in Registered Nursing (required)
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor of Science Nursing- BSN or MSN (Preferred)
- 2 years of Emergency Room Experience (Preferred)
- Critical care experience in hospital preferred
- 2 years of acute care Registered Nurse Experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process.
- Adhere to the standards of practice including assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care, teaching and health promotion, and evaluation.
- Uphold the standards of professional performance including ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice/nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health.
- Utilize clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.
