About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Special Care Nursery provides care to newborns, including critically ill newborns and their families, in a safe and nurturing environment. The RN uses the knowledge and skills appropriate to the patient’s age and developmental level to assess physical and emotional needs and develop an appropriate plan of care. The RN implements the plan, supervises others involved in its implementation, assesses its effectiveness, and coordinates the patient’s care.

Requirements

• Current RN licensure by the New Jersey State Board of Nursing.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• At least 6 months of nursing experience; maternal-child health nursing experience is preferred.
• Meet all requirements of the basic RN job description and perform all elements independently.
• Enroll in a BSN or MSN program at an accredited school of professional nursing within six months of hire or rehire and graduate by the third employment anniversary date in a nursing position, unless covered by a listed grandfathered exemption.
• Obtain Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification within six months of hire.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities
