Requirements

  • Active authorization to practice as a Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania
  • If possessing an active temporary practice permit, must obtain licensure as a Registered Nurse within the one (1) year period defined by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing
  • Must show proof of possession of a current, valid PA temporary practice permit or PA Registered Nurse license at the time of appointment
  • Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required
  • Must be able to perform essential job functions
  • Must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements

Responsibilities

  • Administer medications, treatments, tests, and emergency care in accordance with clinical direction
  • Evaluate patient conditions, monitor changes, and assist with examinations and specialty clinics
  • Help individuals with activities of daily living to ensure their basic care needs are met
  • Maintain accurate documentation, reports, and medication records to support continuity of care
  • Follow infection control procedures, correctional policies, and quality service standards
  • Share important information during shift reports and collaborate with custody and medical staff
