Parkside Pediatrics - Registered Nurse
About The Position
Provides patient care in a pediatric office setting, assisting providers and staff in coordinating patient care. Functions as a primary liaison between patients, families, staff, and providers. This role involves both autonomous and collaborative work to ensure continuity of care, accurate medical record maintenance, telephone triage, general nursing care, and maintaining exam rooms and lab areas. The nurse will also administer medications and vaccines, stay updated on medical knowledge, attend meetings, and adhere to company policies and HIPAA guidelines. A specific duty for Parkside Pediatrics includes coordinating preventative well visits while performing patient rooming duties.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Current RN License
- Possess knowledge of approved medical abbreviations and correct spelling of the English language.
- Ability to work with non-cooperative patients, patients with psychosocial problems and needs, or chronic and acute health problems.
- Ability to adapt to various work assignments.
- Possess good customer service skills and exceptional telephone etiquette.
- Previous computer experience helpful.
Responsibilities
- Communicates with clinical, clerical and billing departments, providers, patients and families to ensure continuity of care.
- Accurately completes and maintains medical records and documents.
- Performs telephone triage utilizing approved protocols.
- Provides general nursing care to patients.
- Maintains exam rooms and lab area. Prepares, stocks and cleans rooms as well as maintains supplies and equipment for treatment.
- Administers/documents medication, vaccines, and treatments.
- Maintains skills and knowledge base through reading, training and other structured in-services.
- Attends clinical meetings as scheduled.
- Conducts self in accordance with Tribe 513 employee manual.
- Maintains strictest confidentiality; adheres to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations.
- Coordinates scheduling of preventative well visits while performing patient rooming duties.
