About The Position

Baptist Health is hiring a Registered Nurse to join our Emergency Department team at Baptist Nassau in Fernandina Beach, FL. This is a PRN Night shift opportunity. The Emergency Department at Baptist Nassau provides high-quality, patient-centered emergency care to coastal communities in Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia. Requirements

  • 1–2 years Medical Surgical Nursing Experience (required)
  • Telemetry Experience (required)
  • Hospital Experience (required)
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (required)
  • Licensed Registered Nurse (required)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) (required)

Nice To Haves

  • Emergency Department Experience (preferred)
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (preferred)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) (preferred)
  • Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN), TNCC, NIHSS (preferred)
  • Certification- ACLS required within 6 months for the Adult EDs and Free Standing EDs
  • PALS required within 1 year of hire for the Free Standing EDs and required within 6 months for WCH ED.

Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, compassionate, and evidence-based nursing care to patients requiring treatment for medical, surgical, and emergent conditions
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans
  • Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and care plans
  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams
  • Coordinate care with ancillary services to support optimal outcomes
  • Serve as a patient advocate, ensuring safety and satisfaction
  • Participate in staff meetings, unit-based initiatives, and continuous quality improvement

  • Provides for patient needs as recognized through use of the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation) and the mission statement; organization and supervision of care provided by supportive personnel; coordination of care provided by ancillary services
  • Including patients and significant others (SO)/families in developing an individualized plan of care
  • Education of patients/SO/families to their disease process and plan of care
  • Serves as patient advocate and responsible for providing care to patients requiring treatment of any medical, surgical, or other condition, including chronic medical and minor injuries or illnesses.
