About The Position

The Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance (HPHA) is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Critical Care (Intensive Care Unit) department. This is a temporary full-time position located in Stratford, ON. Requirements

  • Current registered member in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Recent Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia course, or equivalent (current experience).
  • Recent 12-lead ECG interpretation course, or equivalent (current experience).
  • Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
  • Recognized Critical Care certificate required.
  • Minimum of 2 years recent clinical nursing experience in a hospital setting required.
  • A minimum of 5 years experience in an Intensive Care Unit as an equivalent required.
  • Pacemaker Management.
  • Ventilator Management.
  • Haemodynamic Monitoring.
  • Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Working knowledge of Meditech Information System and personal computer applications.

Nice To Haves

  • Recognized Critical Care Certificate
  • CNCC(C)
  • Minimum of 2 years recent clinical nursing experience in a hospital setting and willing to obtain Critical Care certificate within one (1) year of hire required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care in a critical care setting.
  • Engage patient and family partners in patient education related to the Critical Care setting.
  • Plan, organize, and problem-solve effectively.
  • Work independently and as a team member.
  • Utilize Meditech Information System and personal computer applications.
