About The Position

Benchmark is seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse to deliver nursing care to residents in a warm, comfortable, home-like assisted living environment. The nurse joins a team of dedicated associates who provide support and build community, with opportunities to develop long-lasting relationships with residents and colleagues. The posting lists full-time, part-time, days, evenings, weekends, temporary, and per-diem opportunities.

Requirements

• Current state license as a Registered Nurse and CPR certification.
• Graduate of an approved RN program, as required by the state.

Nice To Haves

• One to two years of experience working as a nurse is preferred.
• Previous experience working with elderly people in a paid or volunteer position is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Accurately assess, communicate, and document residents’ status.
• Observe and report significant changes in residents’ behavior and health to the Resident Care Director, physician, family, Resident Care Assistants, and Executive Director, in accordance with state regulations.
• Direct and supervise Resident Care Assistants’ daily work assignments.
• Mentor, guide, and direct Lead Resident Care Assistants in all aspects of their jobs.
• Coordinate care needs with community providers through an effective case management process.
• Balance service demands while supporting residents’ independence.
• Recognize and help prevent elder abuse, neglect, and exploitation, including financial exploitation, and report concerns to appropriate sources as required by state regulations.
• Respond to emergencies and personal emergency response system alerts, and determine when to call for backup.
