About The Position

Sentara CarePlex Hospital is hiring a Registered Nurse for the Inpatient Surgical Unit. This position is for the Third (Nights) shift, working 36 hours per week with rotating weekends. New graduates are welcome to apply and may be eligible for a new grad bonus. The primary duties include assessing/admitting patients, rounding checks, administering medications, communicating with family members, and overall patient care responsibility. The unit emphasizes teamwork to ensure the best patient care. The Inpatient Surgical Unit at Sentara CarePlex Hospital is seeking motivated, compassionate, and dedicated Registered Nurses for its fast-paced environment, primarily serving postoperative patients. The unit handles a quick turnover of patients with complex needs across a wide range of surgical specialties including Vascular, Neurosurgery, General Surgery, Orthopedic, Podiatric, Colorectal, Bariatric, Plastic, Gynecologic, and Urologic. In this role, you will collaborate closely with surgeons and the multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional postoperative care, and occasionally provide care for general medical needs. Requirements

  • Virginia or Compact Multi-State License in good standing
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days of hire
  • RN-Associate’s Degree, or
  • RN-Bachelor’s Degree, or
  • RN-Diploma, or
  • RN-Master’s Degree
