Registered Nurse - Behavioral Health (Children's Crisis Intervention Services)
About The Position
Saint Clare's Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for its Children's Crisis Intervention Services behavioral health role. Registered nurses provide patient care, educate patients about mental and medical conditions, and offer advice and emotional support to patients and family members. The role includes running therapeutic groups and providing psychiatric crisis intervention, including seclusion and restraint when needed. RNs document patient medical histories and symptoms, assist with diagnostic tests and analysis of results, operate medical machinery, administer treatments and medications, and support follow-up and rehabilitation. They also teach patients and families about managing illness or injury, diet and exercise programs, self-administration of medication, and physical therapy. Other related duties may be assigned. This is a per diem position on the night shift.
Requirements
- Current and valid State license as a Registered Nurse.
- Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
- Working knowledge of Mental Health Laws and practice standards.
- Working knowledge of interdisciplinary treatment team process, behavioral health programming, and daily nursing functions for inpatient and outpatient behavioral health units.
- Working knowledge of the continuum of care for behavioral health care.
