About The Position

Saint Clare's Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for Behavioral Health, Children's Crisis Intervention Services. Registered nurses provide patient care and education, emotional support, therapeutic groups, psychiatric crisis intervention, and seclusion and restraint when needed. They record medical histories and symptoms, help perform diagnostic tests and analyze results, operate medical machinery, administer treatment and medications, and assist with follow-up and rehabilitation. They also teach patients and families about managing illness or injury, diet and exercise programs, medication self-administration, and physical therapy. The position is per diem on the night shift.

Requirements

Current and valid state license as a Registered Nurse.
Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintained thereafter.
Working knowledge of mental health laws and practice standards.
Working knowledge of the interdisciplinary treatment team process, behavioral health programming, and daily nursing functions for inpatient and outpatient behavioral health units.
Working knowledge of the continuum of care for behavioral health care.

Responsibilities

Treat patients and provide advice and emotional support to patients and/or family members.
Educate patients about mental and medical conditions.
Run therapeutic groups and provide psychiatric crisis intervention.
Perform seclusion and restraint of patients.
Record patients' medical histories and symptoms.
Help perform diagnostic tests and analyze results.
Operate medical machinery.
Administer treatment and medications.
Help with patient follow-up and rehabilitation.
Teach patients and families how to manage illness or injury, diet and exercise programs, medication self-administration, and physical therapy.
Perform other related duties.
