About The Position

Southern Live Oak Wellness (SLOW) Academy is a specialized 8-bed inpatient eating disorder treatment program located in Dunwoody, Georgia, providing compassionate, evidence-based care for individuals struggling with eating disorders and related behavioral health challenges. Our program was intentionally designed to provide a more personalized, family-style treatment environment where every team member plays a meaningful role in patient recovery. Our smaller setting allows clinicians to truly know their patients, collaborate closely with the treatment team, and make a direct impact on medical stabilization and long-term recovery outcomes. We are seeking a compassionate and clinically skilled Part-Time Registered Nurse (RN) to join our weekend day shift team and provide medical and psychiatric nursing support to clients receiving eating disorder treatment.

Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Georgia or a compact state
  • Current BLS/CPR certification (AHA preferred)
  • Minimum 1 year of nursing experience

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in eating disorder treatment, behavioral health, psychiatric nursing, acute care, or medical stabilization
  • BSN preferred
  • CPI certification preferred
  • Knowledge of eating disorders including: Anorexia Nervosa (AN), Bulimia Nervosa (BN), Binge Eating Disorder (BED), ARFID and related feeding concerns
  • Ability to recognize risks related to nutritional rehabilitation and refeeding
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills
  • Experience managing medications and monitoring patient response
  • Ability to provide trauma-informed, compassionate nursing care
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

Responsibilities

  • Complete nursing assessments and ongoing health monitoring for assigned clients
  • Monitor vital signs, weights, hydration status, nutritional intake, and overall medical stability
  • Identify and communicate changes in client condition to providers and treatment team members
  • Monitor for risks associated with malnutrition and refeeding syndrome
  • Review laboratory results and identify electrolyte abnormalities or medical concerns
  • Recognize signs of medical instability, including cardiac concerns such as bradycardia
  • Administer medications safely and monitor effectiveness and side effects
  • Support structured meals and nutritional rehabilitation programming
  • Observe eating disorder behaviors and provide appropriate nursing interventions
  • Provide medication education and health education to clients
  • Participate in treatment team meetings and clinical collaboration
  • Respond appropriately to medical and psychiatric emergencies
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the EMR system (KIPU)
  • Support a safe, trauma-informed, recovery-focused environment
