About The Position

Community Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide direct patient care in its Emergency Department. The RN uses the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice, monitors and communicates patient conditions, and collaborates with the care team to coordinate treatment and related services. The role also advocates for patients’ physical and emotional well-being.

The position is part-time with variable swing shifts: two 12-hour shifts, either 10 a.m.–10 p.m. or 1 p.m.–1 a.m. The schedule includes every third weekend and holidays per the union contract. The ED team emphasizes collaboration, compassion, clinical excellence, professional development, and continuous learning, with opportunities to build emergency nursing expertise and participate in quality improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Current Montana RN license or Compact RN License with Montana endorsement.
• Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited nursing school.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• Advanced certifications: ACLS, PALS, TNCC, ENPC, and Handle with Care.
• Three or more years of ED or critical care experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in the Emergency Department using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.
• Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition to the care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Collaborate across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial or spiritual support needs.
• Advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of patients.
